The topic of the CILECT (The International Association of Cinema, Audiovisual and Media Schools) congress in Beijing, China, was Artificial Intelligence. The congress took place from 21 - 25.10.2024 at the Communication University of China (CUC) https://en.cuc.edu.cn/. CUC provided an extremely high-quality professional program and congress facilities, including a cultural program, which also reflected the 70th anniversary of the founding of CILECT. Participants from 100 schools from 60 countries weighed the pros and cons of AI in its current form. After many excellent conversations exploring the potential of UI, filmmakers are expressing concern that computer-savvy professionals with the ability to master UI tools are favored over traditional non-technical creators focused on thought and content. The question culminates:
"What is the philosophical essence of digital SW in relation to the traditional media artist?"
