Purpose of the trip: participation in the international conference SIGGRAPH 2017
From 30. 7. to 3. 8. 2017, Ing. Marek Ježo participated in the international conference SIGGRAPH 2017. The conference took place in parallel sections focused on various areas of graphics and visual effects. The most beneficial sections were
"Courses" and "Panels", in which experts from universities or from practice presented and discussed the latest trends in computer graphics and visual effects. This year's conference featured many lectures and practical demonstrations in the field of virtual reality. There was also talk about the advent of artificial intelligence in the field of computer graphics and its use in this area.
Participation in the conference enabled the exchange of knowledge from multiple scientific disciplines, the establishment of valuable contacts with participants from different countries of the world, and the exploration of current possibilities for technological progress in the field of computer graphics and visual effects.
After the conference, a meeting was held with representatives of the Xsense company, which develops professional motion capture systems. The conversation was about the use of Xsense systems in the learning process. An agreement was reached to send price offers to the school, which should include significant discounts compared to official prices.
On the last day, a meeting was held with representatives of Giant Propeller. The possibilities of cooperation between the school and their post-production studio were discussed. The company is open to supporting students in the form of an internship, which would take place at their workplace in Los Angeles.
