ANIMATION BASED ON THE RUBE GOLDBERG MECHANISM PRINCIPLE.
Design a short visual work - an animatic, presenting your own funny Goldberg machine.
Form
Create a soundtrack for a fictional TV series, a fun 3D animated title, or a trailer for a social event. The theme is a Goldberg machine you designed. The result should be a complete, functional format with a length of 7 to 30 seconds.
Examples:
https://vimeo.com/50636012
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bl2U1p3fVRk
Concept
A chain series of imaginative kinetic actions and reactions, known as a Rube Goldberg machine.
Number of "stages" of the mechanism 3 to 10, possibility to combine simple 3D objects - balls, cones, cylinders, dominoes, rails, spirals, tracks, inclined planes, pan scales; or create your own thematic objects.
Action
Cuts, shots of different lengths - slow, long, short, fast. Timing principles: repetition, gradation, contrast. A visual punchline is desirable at the end.
Implementation
Difficulty chosen to demonstrate the candidate's strengths. Examples of focus:
Artistic talent - a mechanism that does something imaginative, e.g. inflates a balloon or makes coffee. Animation sense - inventive camera angles, timing, animation forum.
Motion design - aesthetics of shapes in motion, visual narration.
A really strong idea that you can't or don't want to generate using 3D software within the given time limit can also be processed as a set of concepts, sketches, and storyboards. The condition is that this documentation clearly and clearly reflects the form of the future visual work.
Music and sound
To increase the attractiveness of the work in terms of sufficient time allocation, the resulting video can be accompanied by music and noises that are not subject to copyright. The sound solution is only the second aspect of the evaluation, which is taken into account after the visual aspect of the work has been completed.
Subtitles
At the beginning, enter the title Title of your work
Insert subtitles at the end: The video was made during the AVFX FTF VŠMU entrance exams.

In the case of sketches, a series of jpg images or a set of graphic sheets.
Rating
In this order, it takes into account in particular:
creative thinking, ingenuity, imagination, artistic sense, composition, timing, experience
with visual narration, technical skill in a 3D program.
